This podcast is produced by North Sound Voices, with Megan Stephenson, Remy Styrk, and Jason LaClair.
There was a time when people understood
that medicine was more than the extraction of chemical compounds from plants.
In fact, the very act of extraction—when done without reverence—
can sever the Spirit of the plant from its healing gift.
In ancient cultures,
health was not a commodity managed by numbers, policies, or data points.
It was a sacred relationship—
with one another, with Earth Mother, with Sky Father—
a web of connection that could not be reduced to graphs or bottled into products.
In the memories of my ancestors,
healing was not administered—it was sung.
It rose as poetry from the land and moved through us
when we listened deeply to the wisdom of wind, water, bird, and tree.
Quietly, gently,
this ancient way of healing is returning.
Will you listen?
